Over the past 10 years, Criterion Catalysts & Technologies (Criterion) has continually pushed the boundaries of hydroprocessing catalyst technology and raised hydrodesulphurisation (HDS) activity to ever higher levels. We have used our fundamental understanding of catalyst structure and behaviour, our catalyst manufacturing skills and our extensive commercial experience to launch a series of innovative catalysts. These have enabled us to keep pace with our customers’ increasingly complex demands, as new clean fuels legislation has been introduced, competition has intensified and margins have come under sustained pressure.
Our current catalyst portfolio is founded on two technology platforms: ASCENT (now in its second generation) and CENTERA®. Both of these platforms can be used to formulate CoMo and NiMo catalysts; the former are ideal for low-severity feed and hydrogen-constrained operations and the latter come into their own with more challenging feeds, for example, with higher end points, more cracked fractions and higher nitrogen levels, or where there is a requirement to upgrade diesel properties (cetane, cold flow, density, colour, etc.).

|ASCENT DC-2535||CoMo - ULSD/ULSK production||Ideal catalyst for moderate ULDS and ULSK hydroprocessing where it is critical to limit hydrogen addition to the feed and or color in Kero is a concern.|
|ASCENT DN-3532||NiMo-ULSD production||Highly stable with ideal activity catalyst for producing ULSD at moderate-to-high operating pressures. Particuarly effective in stacked scenarios where nitrogen removal will optimize sulfur reduction.|
|CENTERA DC-2635||CoMo - ULSD production||DC-2635 is designed to maximize sulfur removal and is Criterion's highest activity catalyst ideal for producing ULSD at low-to-moderate operating pressures, especially when it is critical to limit hydrogen addition to the feed.|
|CENTERA DN-3636||NiMo-ULSD production||DN-3636 is Criterion's highest activity catalyst ideal for producing ULSD at moderate-to-high operating pressures when sufficient hydrogen is available to capitalize on its high hydrogenation activity. DN-3636 is designed to maximize nitrogen / sulfur removal with increased hydrogenation for volume gain of the polyaromatic compounds that are often the rate-limiting factor for ULSD production.|
|SDD-800||Distillate Dewax||The base metal SDD-800 is sulfur and nitrogen tolerant with improved stability and yields. It is intended for use in one-stage catalyst configurations for processing diesel that can contain varying amounts of sulfur compounds.|
